Ripple Effect is looking for a Senior Data Scientist (Part-Time, On-Call) with 6 years of experience to support our client’s mission. This role will work closely with our Digital Transformation Team to analyze complex datasets, generate insights, and develop statistical models to support data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data analysis, and statistical modeling, with a proven ability to drive actionable insights from complex datasets.

- Salary Range: $38.68 - $44.48 per hour (how we pay and promote)
Responsibilities
- Data Management: Extract and transform raw data from multiple sources into meaningful and actionable insights. Aggregate coded comment data to surface themes and insights. Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing robust data validation, cleaning processes, and best practices for data management.
- Data Analysis & Modeling: Design and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems and generate insights from large and complex data sets. Develop coding frameworks using NVivo, R, or other coding platforms.
- Training & Documentation: Develop training materials and co-lead training events. Develop and revise SoPs and other related process documentation.
- Reporting: Develop client reports using aggregated data. Track and process progress reports using an electronic database. Review documents for accuracy and collaborating with team members to resolve any discrepancies. Present findings and recommendations to key decision-makers in a clear and concise manner.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in data science.
- Other related tasks, as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
- 6 years of data science related experience, with at least 2 of those years in a social or biomedical science related field.
Basic Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Science Analyst, with a focus on data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
- Proficient in coding languages such as Python or R, data manipulation tools like SQL, and cloud platforms like Azure.
- Strong knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques.
- Experience manipulating data in NVivo or other coding platforms.
- Thorough knowledge of English grammar, syntax, spelling, punctuation, and abbreviation.
- Ability to learn and navigate web-based system such as SharePoint, Teams, and other electronic business systems.
- Ability to prioritize among multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with colleagues, research staff, and other business operations professionals to understand requirements and explain data projects.

Skills That Set You Apart
- Experience with automated business systems and transfer/tracking of information within and between systems.
- Experience with social science research, comment coding, quality control, and aggregation for Federal client projects.
- Proficiency with data visualization tools and techniques such as Power BI.
- Experience writing training and guidance materials.
