Position:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with case preparation and management, including drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests;
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various estate, trust, probate, and estate litigation matters;
  • Coordinate communication with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in cases;
  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents and correspondence are accurately recorded and filed;
  • Prepare for and attend client meetings, hearings, and other legal proceedings as necessary;
  • Support attorneys in estate litigation matters, including preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials;
  • Assist with estate administration tasks, including asset identification, valuation, petitions, inventories, and accountings;
  • Drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents based on attorney's instructions and client information;
  • Working closely with attorneys to provide support in all aspects of estate planning, probate and estate litigation matters;
  • Handling probate/estate administration matters from start to finish;
  • Educating clients on the estate planning process, probate procedures, and other legal matters related to their specific situation;
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and billing.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma;
  • Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience;
  • Great interpersonal skills;
  • Extremely detail oriented and effective organizational abilities;
  • Strong work ethic and professionalism;
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to juggle multiple projects, and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and proactively manage caseload;
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of our team;
  • Strong computer skills, must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel;
  • 3+ years of experience with an estate, trusts, probate/estate administration and/or estate litigation;
  • Strong understanding of estate planning, administration, and litigation procedures
  • Experience with elder law is a plus.
