Network Administrator, Senior

Our mission is to deliver exceptional management and technology solutions supporting the protection and preservation of the people and environment of the United States of America. RMC is hiring for a Network Administrator who will provide support to an RDT&E environment at Patuxent River, MD.

The selected applicant will:   

• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for small enterprise RDT&E network.
• Install, configure, and maintain an organization's local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers
• Experience with implementation of VMWare NSX
• Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems utilizing tools such as SolarWinds or What’s Up Gold
• Review System and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups
• Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access
• Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses
• Assist with performing network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software. 
• Implement and maintain DoD security measures and provide artifacts to maintain system accreditation
• Provides security hardening on Firewalls, routers and switches to mitigate susceptibility to threats.
• Installs/Maintains/Administers Juniper Firewalls and Cisco Routers/Switches.  Proficiency with various OS (JUNOS, Cisco IOS, etc)
• Install and configure Cisco routers and switches, VLANs, VPNs, security.
• Work with Information Security to perform routine security analysis to initiate firewall changes, security updates or implement infrastructure changes
• Assist other Network Administrators in firewall management and intrusion prevention and detection of external gateways.
• Network administration including user account management, firewall, office systems and applications

Requirements

• A Master’s Degree and ten (10) years of experience in related infrastructure, operating systems, system administration work is required.  Four (4) years of additional related work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Cisco (CCNA/CCNP) or Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS) certification.
• Experience working in a DoD environment
• The selected applicant must have DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II Certification (Security + CE) and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in RDT&E environments.

Clearance requirement:

• An active DoD Top Secret clearance is required to start.  Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
