RMC is hiring for a Network Administrator who will provide support to an RDT&E environment at Patuxent River, MD.
The selected applicant will:
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for small enterprise RDT&E network.
- Install, configure, and maintain an organization's local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers
- Experience with implementation of VMWare NSX
- Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems utilizing tools such as SolarWinds or What’s Up Gold
- Review System and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups
- Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access
- Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses
- Assist with performing network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.
- Implement and maintain DoD security measures and provide artifacts to maintain system accreditation
- Provides security hardening on Firewalls, routers and switches to mitigate susceptibility to threats.
- Installs/Maintains/Administers Juniper Firewalls and Cisco Routers/Switches. Proficiency with various OS (JUNOS, Cisco IOS, etc)
- Install and configure Cisco routers and switches, VLANs, VPNs, security.
- Work with Information Security to perform routine security analysis to initiate firewall changes, security updates or implement infrastructure changes
- Assist other Network Administrators in firewall management and intrusion prevention and detection of external gateways.
- Network administration including user account management, firewall, office systems and applications
Requirements
- A Master’s Degree and ten (10) years of experience in related infrastructure, operating systems, system administration work is required. Four (4) years of additional related work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Cisco (CCNA/CCNP) or Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS) certification.
- Experience working in a DoD environment
- The selected applicant must have DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II Certification (Security + CE) and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in RDT&E environments.
Clearance requirement:
- An active DoD Top Secret clearance is required to start. Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
