NAA is seeking a Membership Engagement Manager to join its team!
Overview:
The Member Engagement Manager will be responsible for the strategic development and management of member services and engagement. The Member Engagement Manager will utilize industry standards in account management best practices from the American Society of Association Executives to manage a portfolio of members and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to increase NAA’s visibility. The Member Engagement Manager acts as a liaison for NAA and serves as a backup for the CEO on national advocacy associations: Voice for Adoption and Family Builders Network, providing updates on member services work. This position reports to the CEO and is fully remote within the United States. The Member Engagement Manager will be an integral part of an organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and families involved with the foster care system.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, non-profit management, marketing, communications, advertising or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of membership engagement and constituency services management experience with proven supervisory ability.
• Prior non-profit and child welfare experience preferred.

· High level proficiency in Microsoft Office, Zoom, Slack Trello, and Google Workspace.
· Expert level fluency in the YourMembership AMS database software or other CRM database software.
· Resourceful, with the ability to engage well in a team-based environment to drive outcomes.
· Results-oriented with a high attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
· Must be aligned with NAA’s mission and passionate about the children and families we serve.
· Must have the ability to travel 10% - three days per month on average
Role and Responsibilities:
- Member Recruitment & Onboarding. Develop the member engagement strategy to improve engagement goals, activities, and schedule. Introduce new ideas for NAA’s membership to grow and showcase its value by rethinking some of our engagement strategies. Identify potential members and host meetings with them to discuss joining the organization. Proactive outreach to those who attend meetings including follow-up and personalized invitations to join NAA. Conduct technical walk-through meetings with new assigned staff for membership and check-in.
- Member Engagement & Education. Create and follow through on social media strategy to monitor member activity, conduct regular touchpoints, cross-promote and disseminate work, establish peer-to-peer connections, and schedule regular check-in meetings. Establish an integrated marketing campaign approach to communicate NAA messaging across all communication channels. Plan educational offerings for organizations for the year. Create intuitive member experiences that foster participation. Build and maintain a positive image of NAA through strategic communication and branding. Build meaningful connections with members by maintaining regular communication as their primary point of contact.
- Member Visits. Meet with new members for recruiting purposes and current members for retention and engagement. Attend member child welfare events, give remarks, and sponsor (as budget allows). Act as a subject matter expert for NAA’s membership by leading conversations and answering questions when meeting with current or potential members.
- Member Management. Manage a portfolio of members and interactions to develop and maintain good relationships with key stakeholders and assure membership satisfaction. Proactively identify potential member relations challenges and devise effective solutions to address them. Keep up to date with industry trends and membership best practices. Keep the NAA Sr. Leadership Team updated regarding member compliments, recommendations, concerns, and/or complaints. Manage invoices and bills for membership.
- Data & Reporting. Develop and review data from annual member survey and partner with the Board committees to plan activities. Routinely gather and analyze member engagement activity data through website, social media, events, and community activities to track and meet member engagement goals. Prepare reports on project performance.
- Event Planning Oversight. Lead the coordination and review of workplans for major meetings. This includes meetings and events where NAA plans to exhibit and promote itself. Conduct post-event conversations with members to gather feedback.
Additional Notes:
This position may require occasional evenings and weekends. Travel for approximately 3 days per month on average within the United States is required. NAA conducts background checks on all employees.
Benefits and Compensation:
The Membership Engagement Manager salary is $80,000.
