Junior Engineer or Physical Scientist

This is a highly compensated permanent position as a full-time employee with benefits. Compensation will be commensurate with nature and level of experience. LOCATION: Work is 100% on-site, primarily at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) facility in Germantown, Maryland. 

Global Engineering and Technology (GET) is seeking a Junior Engineer (nuclear, mechanical, electrical, or chemical) or Physical Scientist (e.g., a degree in physics, chemistry, or materials science) to serve as a Technical Guidance Analyst at the DOE's Office of Classification.  Join GET in providing the United States Government with national defense-related support of the highest standard. Duties:

• Under the direction of a Senior Technical Guidance Analyst, the Technical Guidance Analyst will be trained to assist with the preparation of classification guidance and classification/declassification policy documents in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, DOE orders, and DOE procedures for RD, FRD, NSI, and UCNI
• The Technical Guidance Analyst will also be trained to analyze highly technical information to determine whether the material is classified or unclassified but sensitive

Compensation:

• This position has a compensation range of $105,000 to $135,000 per year, depending on qualifications.

Requirements

Security Clearance and Citizenship:                        

• Preference is given to applicants with an active Top Secret security clearance or DOE Q security clearance; however, applicants with a Secret, DOE L, or without a clearance may be considered on a case-by-case basis for clearance sponsorship, processing timeline permitting
• Applicants must be citizens of the United States of America

Skills and Experience:

• Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in engineering- or science-related work to qualify for this position
• Candidates with knowledge or familiarity with DOE Derivative Classification are highly regarded
• This position requires the ability to write concise technical subject matter guidance
• Must be able to read and understand written English at or above academic grade 15

Education:

• This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or a physical science discipline
