The Director of Global Supply Chain will lead strategic and tactical operations for an rapid agile supply chain within international and domestic disaster response efforts. This role will ensure rapid and effective sourcing, procurement, distribution, and warehousing, focusing on efficiency, quality, and safety in challenging environments. Responsibilities include overseeing Global Supply Chain Senior manager of the oversight of Global Relief Operations Centers (ROC) locations, storage facilities, 3PL Facilities. Oversee all inventory, supplier negotiations, and local procurement, with a focus on supporting a team of supply chain field managers during disaster response. With a core commitment to innovation and localization, this role is essential in maintaining and enhancing our organization’s ability to deliver rapid, adaptable, localized supplies worldwide.
This role requires a sincere commitment to WCK’s mission, occasional work during nights, holidays, and weekends, and the flexibility to support our work across multiple time zones. This role is intended to be a full-time exempt position, based in Washington DC, with a minimum of 3 days on-site per week. This role reports to the VP, Relief Administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic and Operational Leadership
- Develop and manage local and international procurement methodologies, ensuring alignment with WCK’s global supply chain objectives.
- Establish and communicate performance goals, leading the team toward exceptional rapid execution.
- Cultivate team growth and development within the Supply Chain unit.
- Create and implement waste reduction strategies using lean Supply Chain principles.
- Ensure Supply Chain Managers rapidly build and maintain kitchen infrastructure during responses; lead innovation to develop and streamline these systems.
- Direct supply chain field management teams during non-activation phases and provide on-activation support, ensuring rapid, high-quality response to relief efforts.
Procurement and Vendor Management
- Negotiate supplier contracts, manage vendor relationships, and ensure procurement quality and compliance with WCK’s standards for rapid, efficient, and cost-effective sourcing.
- Oversee bid analysis, supplier selection, and recommend improvements in sourcing strategies to enhance the supply chain’s effectiveness.
- Implement comprehensive vendor assessments, including effectiveness analysis, risk evaluation, and performance tracking.
Innovation and Process Improvement
- Drive technological integration within the supply chain, fleet, and facilities to improve operational efficiency and enhance response capabilities.
- Continuously refine supply chain processes and frameworks, tailoring them to the evolving landscapes of relief locations.
- Facilitate rapid logistical setup to address the challenges presented by remote and disaster-affected regions, supporting WCK’s commitment to be a frontline leader in relief response.
Logistics and Fleet Management
- Oversee facilities, fleet operations, logistics, and warehousing teams to ensure the timely rapid deployment of supplies and personnel.
- Work with international partners to secure resources promptly and cost-effectively.
- Actively participate in emergency responses, including field support as required, to ensure seamless operations.
Financial Management
- Collaborate with finance to provide accurate, real-time financial tracking and documentation for all supply chain activities.
- Oversee budgeting and expense forecasting for supply chain, fleet, and warehousing operations, aligning with organizational financial planning.
- Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and compliance requirements, maintaining transparency and accountability in all supply chain-related transactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of supply chain management and logistics experience, preferably in a rapid-response or international context.
- Ability to spend up to 50% of time in the field.
- Proven experience managing procurement, logistics, warehousing, and infrastructure, particularly in challenging or remote environments.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with a focus on sustainable and ethical sourcing.
- Expertise in lean and agile supply chain methodologies.
- Experience with supply chain technology integration and data-driven process improvement.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire innovation and excellence in high-stakes settings.
- Willingness to travel internationally, often on short notice, and work in dynamic environments.

Salary Range: $130,000 - $160,000 USD Per Year
