THE POSITION
Supports the company by efficiently handling administrative and analytical functions related to the company's fleet, capital, and small equipment programs. Assists branch teams in providing training and administration to ensure the efficient use of the organization’s capital resources, effectively communicating essential information for program success to internal customers. This role will require extensive travel up to 75%.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Relationships and Training/Education
- Implementation of National Account Programs for Branch Managers and Production Managers
- Maintain a regular and documented branch visitation schedule to discuss preventative maintenance intervals, mower blade sharpening, and asset hour tracking with branch teams
- Assist branches in asset utilization and maintenance strategy to maximize equipment life
- Partnering with the Safety Manager, ensure the safe use of vehicles and equipment in the field and to assist branches in conducting their local “Equipment/Safety Rodeo”
- Attend weekly fleet team calls to discuss team focus items, department initiatives, and share best practices
- Coordinate with Operations Support Specialist to ensure data bases are maintained
- Maintain vendor relationships for equipment sourcing, parts pricing, equipment repairs etc.
Business Metrics
Engage branch leadership and review key performance metrics, while documenting action plans for each branch
- DOT compliance
- Oil and service compliance
- GPS units
- Driver Qualification compliance
- Fleetio compliance
Efficient Capital Management
- Conduct annual audit of each asset and evaluate on established criteria
- Employ a high degree of organization skills in counting and tracking of assets
- Provide guidance and expertise to achieve target equipment throughput levels by writing and maintaining Equipment Organization Charts
- Advise branch leadership on whether to retain, replace, or dispose of assets based on condition and business needs during the annual capital budgeting process
- Assist the branches in the disposal of old equipment and in the ordering of new asset
- Manage end of life process to assure smooth exchange of old equipment for new equipment and maximize resale value of retired assets
Snow Equipment Management (where applicable)
- Pre-season snow preparation and documentation (trucks, plows, spreaders, expendable equipment)
- Conduct annual snow equipment training to demonstrate proper use and maintenance of seasonal equipment
- Post season snow storage and documentation (trucks, plows, spreaders, expendable equipment)
