Full Job Description
The Finance Director plays an integral role in the success of the company conducting the daily financial duties for the organization. In essence, this position is a hands-on role that will manage and perform all accounting operations including Operational Budgeting, Financial Reporting, Cost Accounting, Auditing, Billing, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Payroll Transactions and Revenue Recognition.
This is a hybrid type position with the ability to work both in our Columbia, MD office two to three days per week and remotely from your home office.
The essential functions/responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Utilizing QuickBooks to manage all accounting operations including Billing & Revenue Recognition, A/R, A/P, and G/L management, and Cash Flow analysis & reporting.
- Managing process for proper coding of project customer/vendor invoices and application of revenue and costs to associated projects.
- Completing bi-weekly payroll inclusive of sales commissions accounting/payment and working with managers to ensure employee time submission.
- Maintaining contract documents, including SOWs, MSA, Vendor Agreements, Reseller Agreements, etc. in the appropriate files.
- Prepare revenue reconciliations on company bank accounts and corporate credit card accounts.
- Preparing Work in Progress (WIP) reports, cash flow forecasts, projections, and other job cost and cash-related reports for accuracy and project cost accounting.
- Managing all aspects of Project Cost Accounting to ensure proper coding of project revenue and expenses including billable and un-billable employee and subcontractor labor costs, materials costs, travel costs and other miscellaneous expenses, and analyze project profitability of planned vs actual revenue/expenses/profit.
- Preparing annual audit schedules, year-end statements, and monthly/quarterly/annual Sales & Use tax returns.
- Preparing schedule to support all federal/state tax filing requirements and assist in managing the relationship with external firm(s) that perform s annual financial review and tax filing.
- Analyzing financial data to solve fiscal management and accounting issues in accordance with GAAP and GAAS.
- Improve processes and create new workflows for tasks.
- Performing other work-related duties as assigned.
- ELEVI is a small business information technology professional services and product value-added reseller (VAR).Our clients base includes both Commercial Enterprise Fortune 100 type customers as well as Prime Contractors in support of large Federal Government contracts. W e have strategic bi-lateral relationships with several Technology Product OEMs whom we act as a VAR for to resell their products to our direct customer base, as well as preform technical and consulting services for on their behalf in support of their direct customers.
Requirements
Ten years’ experience in accounting.
- Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (GAAS).
- Strong proficiency using QuickBooks Desktop to manage all aspects of the company financials.
- Proficiency in using computers Microsoft Office Application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong skills in organization, documenting, and planning.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, and exercise sound judgment and problem solving.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, exercise sound judgment and confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Multi-tasking ability to handle multiple priorities and adjust to changing priorities and requirements in a fast-paced organization.
- Must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a talent for customer service.
- Customer-centric orientation with a focuses on creating the best experience for both internal and external customers, demonstrating a professional demeanor.
