Connelly School of the Holy Child is a Catholic, college preparatory school, committed to the intellectual, spiritual, artistic, physical, and social development of young women in grades 6 through 12. The Event and Volunteer Coordinator is a member of the Development Department reporting to the Head of Development and is responsible for executing a comprehensive program to increase parent involvement through four key channels of engagement: connecting, volunteering, attending, and giving, in support of the mission of Holy Child. The coordinator will support a wide variety of events for the development department and support parent volunteers.

Primary Responsibilities:

·       Manages the Fathers’ Club and Mothers’ Club and supports the general HCPA as directed by the School Division Heads including planning and promoting HCPA events. Related tasks are performed in conjunction with volunteers and include but are not limited to:

  • Scheduling meetings and coordinating logistics
  •   Collaborating with Committee leads to establish agendas
  • Working with the treasurer to process payments and volunteer reimbursements
  • Ensuring the pipeline of volunteers for positions is reviewed and full
  • Creating materials and messaging in conjunction with the Communications Department to support the programs and events
  • Memorializing the processes to ensure continuity
  • Working with internal and external contacts to execute HCPA events
  • Oversees all details on-site at the events or ensures a volunteer is in place

·        Serves as the primary point of contact for the Spring Gala & Auction and oversees all event-related fundraising to meet budgeted goals

·        Manages the event logistics for the Former Trustees Event, Grandparents Day and the Volunteer Appreciation Reception

·        Recruit Parents to volunteer for Career Day panels and serve as their POC for the day

·        Assists with other Development Office events including but not limited to fundraising events, alumnae events, major donor dinners and constituent receptions.

·        Promotes volunteerism within our parent community by reaching out to a wide variety of parents to ensure the pipeline for volunteer committees is full and current year needs are met.

·        Cultivates an inclusive parent community

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate Possesses the Following Characteristics:

·       Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail

·       Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

·       Budgeting experience, working directly with events is preferred

·       Volunteer management experience demonstrating an ability to listen and inspire others to lead

·       Outgoing personality and comfort with public speaking

·       Ability to work effectively and collaborate with others including superiors, colleagues, donors, volunteers, and other individuals inside and outside the School

·       High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information

·       Willingness to be a team player and member of the community

·       Strong understanding of, and respect for, Catholic faith, beliefs, and practice

·       Commitment to embrace the school’s mission and values

·       Knowledge of Veracross, Raisers Edge, and/or OneCause and familiarity with the suite of Microsoft applications is preferred

·       Ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends

·       Able to lift small items of up to 20 pounds
