At Facet, we put the member above all else. As a Director of Planner Training, you will live out this value each day as you work directly with our new Planners as they learn the Facet Way. You will not only be responsible for helping our new Planners understand the planning philosophy, processes, and best practices here at Facet, but also how our beliefs, mission, and vision are ingrained into every plan, analysis, and communication we have with our members. You will play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission by creating engaging, interactive, and effective learning and development materials for our Planners to effect change management. You will develop deep institutional knowledge of the core skills needed for the Planner position across Facet, thinking critically about innovative ways to elevate the abilities of team members across our Planning team.
- This is not a member facing role. Your Planners are your members, and your success is tied to their success.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and facilitate effective instructor-led and eLearning courses to drive change management across the planning team and ensure adherence to all Facet processes, new tech and quality expectations
- Develop and facilitate weekly training for planners to learn and maintain their knowledge on current processes and product features, and are fully trained to execute all new initiatives
- Create learning modules to help our planners expand their financial planning knowledge and further their development
- Apply adult learning principles to ensure learning is engaging and effective
- Work directly and closely with our Senior Director of Planning, Directors of Planning, and product team to ensure adherence and provide reinforcement training for planners to learn new product features and processes
- Conduct needs assessments to identify performance gaps and develop learning solutions accordingly
- Leverage, coordinate, and collaborate with other trainers, specialists, SMEs, and stakeholders to deliver instruction and support to planners with best practices for calendar, time, and relationship management.
Create and maintain internal resources so our planners have a central place to reference materials
- Ensure internal intranet collateral is maintained, up to date, and that dated resources are retired. Add any member facing collateral for easy access
- Create and maintain reference materials such as job aids, facilitator guides, and participant materials so that planners know what they need to do at each step of the journey
- Create and maintain our current CFP CE offerings and work with the CFP board to continue to expand upon our CFP CE offerings
- Evaluate learning programs and make recommendations for improvements
Onboard and train newly hired planners and be the future of financial planning
- Get new planners trained up on the Facet planning journey, philosophy, and processes so they can start taking new members within 3 weeks of their start date.
- Provide hands on support to our new hires and teach them what they need to be successful in the first 90 days
- Ensure new planners are following our journey and process as designed and meeting our quality standards
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in instructional design and/or learning and development
- Has a CFP
- Experience with developing instructor-led and eLearning courses
- Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design concepts
- Experience with learning technology tools and systems, Lessonly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a high quality training program
- Available to travel for in person trainings
- Must be able to meet and consistently maintain the minimum WiFi standards in order to efficiently work in the Company’s environment, and effect quality online connections
- A minimum of 15+Mbps upload speed, 50Mbps download speed, and a latency of under 100
- If these WiFi speeds are not met, it will be the employee’s responsibility to troubleshoot and potentially upgrade to meet the minimum speed
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience at a startup
- You are willing to learn and adapt to The Facet Way of Financial Planning: most of our members come to us having never worked with a financial planner before and our model is designed to help them channel their needs and goals in digestible pieces
- You have superb communication, organizational, and coaching skills
- You have strong experience managing a framework to measure learning outcomes and effectiveness for a variety of scenarios - ability to understand, analyze, and communicate learning data
- You must be forward-thinking, motivated by continuous improvement, and be excited to impact the skills of our Planning team
- You have excellent computer skills along with the ability to learn in-house software and tools
- You have the ability to provide constructive feedback: we continue to enhance our platform and rely on our team’s feedback for improvement
