IT Concepts is seeking an Assistive Technology Support who will support several projects at a federal agency. The position is located in Woodlawn, MD. The qualified candidate should have strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with sharp attention to detail.
The Office of Hardware Engineering (OHE) ensures that the agency provides appropriate Assistive Technology (AT) and other productivity tools to meet user requirements and comply with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. In addition, Section 508 was enacted to eliminate barriers in electronic and information technology (E&IT) to people with disabilities. Section 508 applies to all Federal Agencies when they develop, procure, maintain, or use E&IT. OSOHE\DRMA is responsible for acquiring and successfully distributing AT for Employees with Disabilities (EWD) at the SSA.
Responsibilities:
- Process new Reasonable Accommodation Requests (RA) from the Center of Accessibility and Disability Services (CADS).
- Create an order for each RA.
- Confirm information is correct with EWD’s site.
- Order hardware from the depot
- Enter software orders to the ATOrders Access Database
- Follow up on shipping and installation progress.
- Confirm RA has been provided.
- Close order
- Process and resolve new Help Desk Incidents assigned to ATCT in ServiceNow
- Create an order for each Help Desk ticket.
- Confirm information is correct with EWD’s site.
- Order hardware from the depot
- Enter software orders to the ATOrders Access Database
- Follow up on shipping and installation progress.
- Confirm RA has been provided as requested.
- Close order in ServiceNow
- Process other AT orders as needed.
- Relocation orders
- ILM (Internet License Manager) Orders
- Recovery Orders
- Track Hardware Inventory
- Create cost analysis spreadsheets.
- Research new products and software packages that could significantly improve AT device environments at SSA.
- Communicate and attend meetings with OHE team members and other SSA components.
Location: Hybrid in Woodlawn, MD
Salary Range: $78,000-82,000. Factors affecting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with eight or more years of experience (will substitute additional years of experience instead of degree)
- Experience with Assistive Technologies and systems (i.e., JAWS, Dragon, and MAGic)
- Experience with order entry
- Intermediate-level experience with Excel
- Experience with tracking systems (i.e., ServiceNow)
- Experience with Help Desk support work, including customer service, documenting and communicating ticket updates
- Writing sample required (i.e., ticket example)
- Quick learner with integrity/honesty, good communication, responsiveness, and interpersonal skills
- Able to self-manage work, work independently or with a team, and manage stress
