Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our AWS cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS services and Databricks, and a strong background in data engineering and cloud architecture.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement data engineering solutions on the Databricks platform.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Databricks workflows and pipelines.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to Databricks and big data processing.
  • Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using services like EC2, S3, VPC, EKS, MWAA, etc.
  • Develop and deploy serverless architectures using Lambda.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to convert business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Provide technical support to development, testing, help desk, and training teams.
  • Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of our DevOps practices.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFormation, Lambda, and IAM.
  • 1+ year of experience working with Databricks.
  • Experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, and open-source tools.
  • Proficiency in provisioning AWS resources using Terraform and/or CloudFormation scripts.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile environment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder and have established residency in the US for the past three (3) years. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  •  AWS certifications (professional and specialty) are desirable.
  • Experience developing and deploying scalable cloud solutions for the federal sector.
  • HHS/CMS AWS cloud experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies; SAFe knowledge is a plus

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload based on the needs of the client
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent technical writing skills and proven experience in systems with complex requirements
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to team with others to meet project objectives
  • Understanding of the system development lifecycle as implemented with Agile; SAFe knowledge a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to navigate in an office setting unassisted
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Strong speaking skills, including the ability to articulate thoughts in a clear manner and excellent word enunciation skills are required
