We are seeking a licensed veterinary technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal welfare, possess strong communication skills, and be committed to delivering high-quality care to our patients. Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Perform laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
- Educate clients on pet care, behavior, and wellness
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the hospital
Requirements
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Maine or expecting to graduate from an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited program and take the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) within one year of hire
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards both animals and clients
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
- RECOVER certified or able to obtain within one year of hire
- Low Stress Handling certified or able to obtain within one year of hire
