As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Material Handling Technical Training Manager to develop and manage our technical training programs, ensuring our teams are equipped with the knowledge and skills to maintain our standard of excellence.
The Material Handling Technical Training Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, delivering, and managing technical training programs for our employees. This role requires a deep understanding of material handling systems, technologies, and processes, as well as the ability to design and deliver training materials that are engaging, effective, and aligned with our business objectives.
Essential Duties:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive technical training strategy that addresses the needs of our employees and supports the company’s goals and objectives.
- Design, develop, and update training materials, manuals, online learning modules, and other educational resources.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify training requirements and gaps for different roles within the organization.
- Manage the delivery of training programs, including scheduling, logistics, and facilitation of in-person and virtual training sessions.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and adjust as necessary to improve outcomes.
- Collaborate with Regional Aftermarket Managers, Service Managers, Branch Managers, and engineering to ensure training materials are accurate and reflect current product features and processes.
- Manage and develop a team of technical trainers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality training delivery.
- Stay abreast of developments in material handling technologies and training methodologies to continuously improve the training program.
- Manage training resources efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in technical training, with a strong preference for experience in the material handling industry.
- Practical knowledge of hydraulic and hydrostatic systems, electric and communication networks, LP and diesel fuel systems, lead acid and lithium-ion lift trucks.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective technical training programs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and engaging manner.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning content development tools.
- 1-3 years supervisory experience preferred.
- Willingness to travel as needed to deliver training and support program implementation.
- Experience in developing technical course content both for novices and experts.
- Knowledge of web-based learning platforms and modern educational techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical terms using simple language.
- Additional certification in training (e.g. Certified Technical Trainer) is a plus.
- At least two years of experience in training with one year of supervisory experience required.
