Position Summary:
As an Accountant at Frac-Chem, a subsidiary of Vinmar International, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting in financial reporting processes. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Accounting: Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Reconciliation: Perform account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Journal Entries: Process and record journal entries accurately and in accordance with company policies.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the budgeting and forecasting process through data analysis and preparation of financial reports.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and file appropriate tax documents, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Financial Analysis: Assist in performing financial analysis to monitor business performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial information and support decision-making.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on accounting best practices, regulations, and industry trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the manufacturing or chemical industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Basic knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
