The Role:

Congo Brands is seeking a Transportation Manager to join the team full-time. The Transportation Manager is responsible for helping lead and mentor the multi-brand transportation team, while ensuring all aspect of transportation are executed at a high level continuously.

This role is on-site at our Louisville, KY headquarters. 

Key Responsibilities:

·      Problem solving for transportation, logistics systems, or customer issues.

·      Negotiate transportation rates and services.

·      Responsible for meeting and/or exceeding all financial goals for the department. Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.

·      Responsible for optimal route structure and implementation, routing systems, demand planning, and overall logistics support.

·      Serve as the focal point for the administration and oversight of the logistics process. This will include benchmarking, negotiating, and managing third party vendor contracts and service levels.

·      Explore process change opportunities & drive continuous improvement.

·      Work effectively as a team member & leader cross-functionally within the transportation team.

·      Execute, support, monitor, & achieve Logistics KPIs 

·      Develop and manage service provider relationships and ensure accountability.

Key Skills and Experience Preferred:

·      5+ years of logistics industry experience

·      Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

·      Proficient at time management and good organizational skills 

·      Understanding common obstacles and solutions in supply chain 

·      Leadership experience with a track record of developing talent & maximizing potential.

·      Ability to communicate effectively to senior management.

·      Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Operations

·      Strong teamwork & problem-solving skills

·      Excellent communication skills 

·      Focus on task organization & attention to detail, with excellent follow-up skills.

·      Experience in continuous improvement & controlling of new processes.

·      Must be able to function and lead in a highly collaborative team environment.

·      Interpersonal, leadership and relationship skill are required for this position.
