Senior Tooling Engineer – Metal Stamping Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Support:
- Evaluate and resolve tool performance issues using root cause analysis.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to enhance productivity and quality.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Create and update preventive maintenance procedures to maintain optimal tool performance.
- Tool Design & Modifications:
- Update die drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to reflect modifications accurately.
- New Product Introduction:
- Participate in quoting, installation, and commissioning of new tools.
- Conduct feasibility reviews, attend customer meetings, and ensure tools meet technical requirements.
- Vendor Management:
- Manage vendor relationships, oversee tooling progress, and perform run-offs to ensure timely and precise delivery.
- Process Development:
- Establish standard processes, develop detailed work instructions, and negotiate with vendors to optimize outcomes.
- Travel & Collaboration:
- Visit manufacturing plants as needed and work closely with teams to implement effective tooling solutions.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Experience: 10+ years in a sheet metal stamping environment.
- Education: Completion of an authorized tool apprentice program or an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and CPK analysis.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, reaching, and using ladders.
- Exposure to vibration and proximity to moving mechanical parts.
