Safety Engineer

Hire Resolve is currently searching for a skilled Fire Protection/Life Safety Engineer to join a premier architectural and engineering (A/E) services firm that specializes in the global design of secure, mission-driven facilities. The position is based in Lexington, KY with others available in Glen Allen, VA, Chantilly, VA, and Virginia Beach, VA.

Are you capable of engineering fire protection systems for medium-to-large scale projects independently, or smaller projects with some guidance from senior engineers? This role involves:

• Creating and editing project documents like drawings and specifications
• Developing a deeper understanding of sprinkler and fire alarm systems, as well as building and life safety codes
• Performing engineering calculations and directing designer staff
• Supporting construction phase activities like submittals and RFIs

You'll excel in this role if you can:

• Actively develop skills across all aspects of fire protection engineering
• Effectively communicate with clients and present ideas
• Coordinate well with project team members and understand project costs
• Build trust with colleagues, seek support when needed, and maintain professionalism
• Take direction from senior staff and guide junior team members as needed

Requirements

• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Engineering in a relevant Engineering discipline, Fire Protection preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• EIT required, PE preferred. Ability to obtain PE required.
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance, current active clearance preferred.
• EXCEL, WORD, PowerPoint, CAD/BIM, Revit.
• Great attitude and team player.
• Successful completion of background screening process.
