Full Job Description
As a Production Welder at KMG, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication process by welding metal components according to specifications. Your precision and attention to detail will ensure the production of high-quality parts that meet customer requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Perform welding operations using MIG, TIG, or other welding processes as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to understand project specifications.
- Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding techniques based on material types and thicknesses.
- Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and dimensional requirements.
- Use hand and power tools to prepare materials and perform post-welding operations such as grinding and polishing.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to achieve production goals.
- Document work performed and record production data as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance welding processes and efficiency.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques; additional experience with other welding processes is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
- Knowledge of welding equipment and tools, including setup, operation, and maintenance.
- Good mathematical skills and ability to perform basic calculations.
- Physical strength and stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
