Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Intern to join our procurement and sourcing team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in procurement processes, supply chain management, and vendor relations. The successful candidate will assist the procurement team in various tasks, providing support in sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in Sourcing and Supplier Management:
· Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers.
· Assist in evaluating supplier performance and reliability.
· Support the team in developing and maintaining supplier relationships.
Purchase Order Management:
· Help in the creation and management of purchase orders.
· Ensure accuracy and completeness of purchase orders.
· Work with external manufacturing teams to track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery.
Inventory Management:
· Assist in monitoring inventory levels and replenishment needs.
· Support the implementation of inventory control procedures.
· Participate in regular inventory audits.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
· Maintain accurate and organized procurement records.
· Assist in the preparation of procurement reports and analysis.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Cost Analysis and Budgeting:
· Help in analyzing cost structures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
· Assist in budget preparation and expenditure tracking.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
· Work closely with other departments such as finance, operations, and logistics to ensure seamless procurement processes.
· Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements.
Requirements:
Education: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Experience: Previous experience or coursework in procurement, supply chain, or logistics is a plus.
- Other: A proactive and enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
