POSITION SUMMARY:
The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials within the facility. This role involves ensuring materials are properly received, stored, and distributed to support production operations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies.
- Unload and load materials from trucks and delivery vehicles.
- Accurately sort, label, and store materials in designated locations.
- Maintain inventory records and perform regular cycle counts.
- Distribute materials to production areas as needed, ensuring timely delivery.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse and storage area.
- Report any discrepancies or issues related to materials and inventory.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material handling processes.
- Perform other duties as required.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Previous experience in a material handling or warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification is an asset).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and inventory.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and record-keeping.
- Physical ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
