Resource Innovations is seeking an Energy Efficiency Project Engineer to join our growing team in Louisville, KY. In this role, you will help customers reduce energy consumption and save money at their facilities by identifying potential energy-saving measures, quantifying and summarizing project economics, supporting project implementation, and verifying installation.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of both prescriptive and custom energy efficiency projects. Tasks may include energy modeling, economic analysis, and/or simulations to quantify energy impacts using spreadsheets or modeling software, developing project scopes, summarizing implementation details, and explaining impacts on operations.
- Conduct energy analysis for projects at medium to large commercial and industrial facilities, identifying and recommending energy efficiency improvements for various energy systems (e.g., lighting, HVAC, compressed air, refrigeration, process heating, plastic molding or forming, motors, boilers, pumping, food processing).
- Write technical reports summarizing results from energy assessments, including energy savings, cost savings, project costs, potential incentives, and simple payback calculations.
- Conduct measurement and verification (M&V) site visits to establish facility energy usage patterns, identify potential energy-saving opportunities, and verify the implementation of energy-saving projects. Tasks may include installing field monitoring equipment/data loggers, collecting building automation system (BAS) trend data, completing functional performance tests, and obtaining equipment photos and project documentation.
- Communicate, coordinate, and assist project stakeholders, including program staff, contractors, and utility customers, to help ensure maximum benefits from utility programs.
- Deliver professional, high-quality services and build rapport with utility customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with energy modeling software and tools is a plus.
- Ability to travel for site visits, with accommodations provided as needed.

Requirements
- A minimum of a bachelors degree is required, preferably in Mechanical, Energy, or related engineering field of study.
- Previous project engineering experience or similar within the energy efficiency industry.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license with a good driving record and a personal vehicle to visit customer sites.
- Must be able and willing to travel locally up to 20%.
- Strong proficiency with oral communication, writing, and analytical skills. Planning, coordinating, organization, and self-management in a professional environment a must.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Interest in sustainability and passionate about making a meaningful impact on the environment.
Preferred skills, education and experience
- An understanding of energy savings opportunities for building energy using systems (lighting, HVAC, compressed air, refrigeration, process heating and cooling, etc.).
- Familiarity with relevant energy efficiency codes and standards (e.g., IECC, Code of Federal Regulations, ASHRAE 90.1, etc).
- Previous relevant experience with success at managing multiple projects/programs, budgets, deliverables, and client relations.
