Our internship program is designed to invest in the future generation of talent. This eleven-week program is centered around the principles of continuous learning, financial stewardship, building relationships, and community involvement, striving to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our interns and the communities we serve.

Position Summary

The Bank Operations Special Projects Intern will play a pivotal role in supporting and executing strategic initiatives within the bank’s operations. This role will provide hands-on experience in bank operations, process improvement, and project management. The intern will have a unique opportunity to work on special projects that contribute to process optimization, innovation, and the overall efficiency of banking operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of special projects within the operations department.
  • Conduct research and analysis to contribute to project planning and decision-making.
  • Participate in identifying opportunities for process improvements and brainstorming ways to enhance efficiency within bank operations.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to project performance and operational metrics.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including IT and Risk Management, to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Assist in maintaining project documentation and communicating project updates.
  • Represent First Southern both in conduct and appearance in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Build relationships both internally and externally through community outreach and events.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in business, finance, operations management, or another related field.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to work with data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Basic understanding of banking operations and financial services.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive attitude and eagerness to take on new challenges.
