Our internship program is designed to invest in the future generation of talent. Position Summary
The Bank Operations Intern will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the bank, gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of banking services. The intern will support various operational processes, ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant banking services while developing professional skills in a dynamic financial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in shadowing opportunities to learn various operational tasks, including wire transfers, debit card disputes, and account reconciliation.
- Review and update various operational procedures.
- Support the organization and maintenance of records, including document check-off processes.
- Assist in handling incoming and outgoing mail related to banking operations.
- Ensure timely and accurate distribution of mail items.
- Participate in compliance and risk management activities, ensuring adherence to federal and state banking regulations.
- Represent First Southern both in conduct and appearance in a courteous, professional manner.
- Participate actively and constructively in cross-functional teams as needed.
- Experience training and development from various team members in all bank departments.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in business, finance, accounting, or another related field.
- Basic understanding of banking operations and financial services.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Highly motivated and resourceful.
