- Compensation: $23.01 /hr
- Worksite Location: South Campus
- Schedule: M-F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Overview/Job Summary:
The Success Coach for Financial Aid is responsible for coordinating Financial Aid operations to improve retention, persistence, and completion rates in degree programs and certificate programs for WSU Tech.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:
- Provides counseling to students regarding financial aid opportunities, both federal and institutional, and the status of their individual file
- Assists students with the financial aid application and award process to include assistance solving financial challenges relating to financial aid eligibility and monetary awards.
- Works with Faculty, Staff administration and students to implement retention initiatives and tracks progress toward goals.
- Maintains current knowledge and understanding of all Title IV Federal Financial Aid programs and compliance regulations for those programs administered at the College
- Uses professional judgment within provided guidelines to evaluate file status and authorize use of financial aid for payment of tuition and fees
- Conduct proactive outreach, including off-site financial aid workshops, to assist prospective and returning students with FAFSA completion
Requirements
Education:
- Associate Degree required; Bachelors Degree preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of computer applications
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Ability to fulfill all duties with minimal supervision and to work independently
- Assess situations rapidly and make logical decisions in a timely manner
- Analyze facts and exercise sound judgment
- Ability to effectively manage projects and multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong math, spelling, computer, and calculator abilities
- Ability to communicate
