Full Job Description

As a Child Start Data Entry Specialist, your main responsibilities include maintaining, monitoring, and modifying the database and connected software for early childhood education (ECE). You will also be responsible for providing training and technical assistance. Collaboration with Program Area Managers is essential to ensure accurate data collection and reporting in accordance with all regulations.

  • Maintain and modify the ECE database on an ongoing basis.
  • Translate user needs into technical solutions within the database.
  • Troubleshoot database system issues with the appropriate technical support staff.
  • Provides input with regards to software and hardware needs and purchases.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including an administrative manual for the database.
  • Collaborates with Training and Development Manager with regards to developing, planning, scheduling, and ensuring attendance of staff data entry training.
  • Ensure all staff understand the purpose, the performance standard/regulation, the reasoning, the use, and the importance of the data being entered.
  • Demonstrates positive approaches to operational challenges, incorporating data, best practices, and staff input toward solutions; fosters purposeful relationships with external stakeholders and internal content teams to ensure program sustainability.
  • Actively promotes and encourages the organization’s data capacity and transparency; able to articulate to staff the “why” behind collecting data and explain how that data is used.
  • Be responsive to all user questions, issues and requests. Provides technical support that ensures efficient operation and maintenance of ECE software.
  • Assesses and shares information with program managers regarding efficiency and productivity of staff.
  • Assists Service Area Managers with regular creation, review, and maintenance of quality user documentation, aids, and training curriculum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or Computer Science or Early Care and Education related field required and/or experience, specialized training or certification.
  • Requires one to three years of related experience. Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures. Previous experience using GoEngage software or other database experience is ideal.
  • Involves the responsibility to safeguard and control confidential data such as client information regarding health, income levels, and other identifying information where considerable care and discretion are required to protect the clients.
  • Accuracy on all reports is imperative as the impact is far-reaching. Work necessitates that a leadership team review approach be used to minimize errors.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends and trouble shoot solutions.
  • Experience with basic statistics and data visualization.
  • Experience with linking data from various sources
  • Experience exporting and importing data to be used for statistical analysis.
  • Requires high level of computer literacy.
  • Supports problem solving and decision-making by staff.
  • Experience documenting computer/process manuals and workflow.
  • Comfortable training large groups of people and providing customer support

Benefits

Child Start's Data Entry Specialist position is $21.38/hour, 40 hours/week and 52 weeks/year.

Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

This is not a remote position, must be able to commute daily to Wichita, KS.
