Assistant Director, K8 STEM

• Compensation: $55,078.40 /yr (This is a grant-funded position.)
• Worksite Location: South Campus

Overview / Job Summary:

The Assistant Director, K8 STEM plays a vital role in leading initiatives and partnerships that support K-8 STEM education programming. This position is responsible for managing key operational activities of the Student Services Division for WSU Tech and K-8 STEM Outreach and Innovation initiative.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

• Implement and oversee STEM outreach programs specifically tailored for K-8 students, focusing on engaging and interactive learning experiences that inspire future STEM professionals
• Build and strengthen relationships with local schools, community organizations, and industry partners to enhance curriculum and ensure alignment with real-world application
• Actively engage with underrepresented populations in the Wichita area to expand access to STEM education and promote diversity in STEM fields
• Organize STEM related camps, events, workshops, and competitions coordinating resources budget and logistics to ensure smooth and successful execution

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, STEM, or related field, advanced degree preferred

Experience:

• Experience with educational program management, specifically in K-8 or youth outreach
• Ability to utilize all Microsoft Office products and programs
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Ability to fulfill all duties with minimal supervision and to work independently
• Assess situations rapidly and make logical decisions in a timely manner
