We are currently seeking an Assistant Controller to join our Finance team in Wichita, KS.

Essential functions of the role:
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports and presentations in compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards
- Prepare and administer technical accounting standards and application of US GAAP
- Oversee the general ledger function including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month end close processes
- Stay updated on and ensure compliance with relevant banking regulations and accounting standards
- Provide guidance and support to ensure accounting team effectiveness and professional growth
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy on the accounting team. Implement best practices and streamline workflows
- Manage and participate in the preparation of various financial statements, forecasts, and reports for the Board
- Oversee the cost accounting process of reporting by division and market
- Perform month end analysis to provide explanations on the Bank’s profitability
- Partner with Technology to implement software updates / upgrades
- Other duties as assigned within the scope and responsibility of the job
Requirements
- Certified Public Accountant
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field;
- Or level of education that, together with 10 years industry and management experience, enables the applicant to meet the job requirements
- Proficiency with large server based applications and typical desktop software including Excel
