Position Title: Quality and Compliance Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Quality and Compliance Managerto oversee adherence to strict quality standards and regulatory requirements in our production facility. This role involves implementing quality improvement initiatives, conducting inspections, and ensuring all employees are well-versed in quality and compliance practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Advocacy:
- Champion the importance of quality throughout the organization, fostering a culture of excellence in manufacturing practices.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to educate employees on Quality and Compliance principles, emphasizing individual accountability.
- Coach and nurture team members, providing guidance in maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to embed a culture of Quality and Compliance ownership on the factory floor.
- Supervise plant timelines and critical milestones for our Quality and Compliance Improvement Plan, as well as other quality metrics.
- Interpret and address quality and compliance issues, both internal and external, and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant regulatory agency requirements, including USDA, FDA, and CFIA.
- Serve as the liaison with local regulatory inspectors and other food regulatory officials who visit our facility.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive quality programs, including HACCP, SQF certification, specifications for materials, recall procedures, environmental monitoring, and pest control.
- Implement corrective actions when Quality or Compliance deficiencies are identified.
- Act as a liaison for all technical and Quality Control matters between Operations, Research & Development, and Sales/Marketing departments.
- Provide quality assurance support to address vendor-related issues, including improvements and corrective measures.
- Oversee product quality during the introduction of new products to the market, ensuring the use of relevant tools and processes.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Compliance, preferably in a similar operational environment.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable regulations, including but not limited to USDA, FDA, and CFIA.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
