Full Job Description
The Iowa Primary Care Association is recruiting a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join the team at community health center in Waterloo, IA. This full-time role is based in a collaborative, community-focused health center, equipped with integrated services like dental, medical, behavioral health, pharmacy, lab, and X-ray—all in one location.
Role Details:
- Location: Outpatient community health center
- Clinic Hours: Mon, Tue, Fri: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM; Wed, Thurs: 8:30 AM - 8:00 PM (requires one evening per week).
- Provider Schedule: some flexibility within the 40 hour workweek
- Team: three other PMHNPs, four therapists, four RNs (including two specialized in medication-assisted treatment), and five social workers
- No weekends and no call.
- Patient Load: 11-14 patients per day, with 60-minute slots for new patients and 30-minute slots for follow-ups.
- Additional Coverage: Occasional coverage at the Clarksville location, limited to one day per week.
- Electronic Health Record: Epic.
- More details: The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric care and be comfortable seeing primarily pediatric patients. This role supports the health center's integrated care model by collaborating with primary care providers, care managers, and community resources to address behavioral health needs. In addition to providing direct patient care, the position involves coordinating with supervising physicians and other team members for consultations and referrals, aligning with the mission of the community health center.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited PMHNP program.
- Licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Iowa.
Benefits
- Salary: Starting at $125,000
- Relocation Allowance: Up to $5,000 for moves over a certain distance.
- Student Loan Repayment: Eligible for state and federal programs; $50k for two years of service.
