Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - $50k in student loan repayment

The Iowa Primary Care Association is actively recruiting a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for a community health center, also called a federally qualified health center (FQHC), in Waterloo, Iowa.

What is a community health center (FQHC)?

• The largest source of comprehensive primary care for medically under-resourced communities and populations.

• They have an integrated care model -medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services, patients can access comprehensive, coordinated services often under one roof.

Position Details:

• Clinic is open: M/T/F: 8AM – 5PM; W/Th: 8AM-8PM

• Your schedule: 5 days/10 sessions

• One evening per week either Wednesday or Thursday, 11:30AM-8PM
• No call
• 11 – 14 patients per day depending on new patient (60 mins) versus follow up (15 mins)
• Team: 2 PMHNP, 4 therapists, 5 social workers, 4 nurses, 1 scheduler, 1 BH director.
• The co-medical director is the direct supervisor for this position.
• EHR: Epic
• In a nutshell: Providing general psychiatric care for pediatrics through geriatric patient populations with a passion for vulnerable populations including racial/ethnic minorities and under resourced. Ability and interest in working collaboratively with primary care providers.

Requirements

• Completion of accredited master's level Nurse Practitioner program with specialty in Psychiatry.
• Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the state of Iowa.
• Previous health care experience preferred and ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
