Full Job Description
The Iowa Primary Care Association is actively recruiting a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide primary care services at a vibrant community health center (FQHC) in Waterloo, IA.

Role Details:
- Clinic Hours: M-F: 8AM - 6PM; S:10AM - 5PM (schedule within these hours will be discussed)
- Full time position: 36 patient contact hours, 4 admin hours
- Sees on average 21 patients per day
- Provider team includes: 2 FM physicians, 1 FM ARNP
Duties:
- Provides client education to promote wellness and support disease management process.
- Prescribes and dispenses medications.
- Document accurately all assessments, interventions, client/family responses, medication dispensed or prescribed, procedures, treatments and other data in medical record.
- Communicates test results and follow-up to patient.
- Provides or participates in education for the client and family by assessing learning needs, formulating a teaching plan and initiating a teaching plan to meet the needs of the client.
- Coordinates client care by triaging phone calls regarding urgency of appointments, and schedules hospital admissions and testing.
- Maintains knowledge of available community resources.
- Uses all available resources for diagnosis and treatment in an appropriate and cost efficient manner.
Requirements
- Nurse Practitioner:
- Graduation from an accredited/approved NP program
- Licensed by the Iowa Board of Nursing as a NP
- Physician Assistant:
- Graduation from an accredited AMA-approved PA program and/or certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Licensed by the Iowa Board of Professional Licensure; licensed to practice in Iowa.
- BLS certification
- Mandatory Reporter for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse
- Clinical experience preferred
