Full Job Description

Resource Innovations is seeking a Trade Ally Network Manager to join our growing team in Chicago, IL. As a Trade Ally Network Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the development of an evolving energy efficiency trade ally/service provider network used to facilitate and enable the delivery of energy efficiency programs. This position will be the externally facing manager of a dynamic contractor network with capabilities in lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, and more to support the delivery of energy efficiency programs to utility customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage an energy efficiency trade ally/service provider network of 200-225 contractors on behalf of a utility sponsored Energy Efficiency program in the Chicagoland area.
  • Be a publicly facing point of contact for the program, as advertised on Energy Efficiency Service Provider (EESP) flyers, fact sheets, and the utility website. Field calls as needed about customer leads and direct to the appropriate channels.
  • Provide regular communication to the contractor network via email, phone calls, webinars, round tables, and regular 1-1 site visits to cover a range of topics including program rule and guideline changes, collecting documentation required to participate in the network, collecting market feedback, delivering non-compliance letters when necessary, discussing sales strategy and annual goals and more depending on the needs of the program.
  • Perform ongoing outreach to contractors with skills relevant to the program's needs, particularly networking with contractors that have comprehensive abilities in lighting, HVAC, and refrigeration. Manage the recruiting and enrollment of new contractors on a quarterly basis to staff the network appropriately.
  • Assist the Outreach Team Manager when meeting with the client to discuss strategic initiatives for the network to understand client needs and opportunities.
  • Manage and deliver required reporting to the client.
  • Manage a team of 3 Outreach Consultants in the execution of the outreach strategy and management of their assigned Trade Allies/ Service Providers.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in engineering, environmental science/studies, business or other relevant area of study.
  • 5-7 years of professional working experience in energy efficiency.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainability and passionate about making a meaningful impact on the environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to respectfully handle difficult conversations.
  • Reporting experience to include the design, analysis, and delivery to an audience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (oral, written, presentation, public speaking) with internal customers and external clients.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, time management, and problem resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred skills, education and experience

  • Master's degree preferred in engineering, environmental science/studies, business or other relevant area of study.
  • 3-5 years of professional working experience with utility sponsored energy efficiency programs, particularly in program management and program design.
  • Experience in networking and recruiting relevant parties to participate in professional networks, particularly with trade associations or other applicable associations or networks.
