About the position Verdant Specialty Solutions has an opportunity for a Technical Service Chemist, you will be an essential part of our team. Your responsibilities will include providing customer support, contributing to product formulation and improvement, and other key responsibilities.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Sales Support and Technical Service to Customers:
- Provide hands-on technical service to customers and distributors.
- Collaborate with the technical team to ensure consistent support.
- Review the existing product portfolio and define strategies to add value.
- Identify new market opportunities and develop suitable product and technical packages.
- Assist in the preparation of literature, including TDS, MSDS, and Formularies.
Laboratory Operations:
- Comfortable in conducting and learning hands on laboratory experiments that may include synthesis, formulation, and performance testing of raw materials and products.
- Conduct routine analytical testing on products and manufacturing components.
- Prepare batch testing result summaries and QA documents (Certificates of Analysis/Compliance).
- Calibrate laboratory equipment and prepare standardized reagents.
- Work collaboratively with the US technical team on product transfer from lab to plant scale.
- Assist in the development of new testing methods and procedures.
- Plan and execute assignments, contribute to project planning.
- Ensure accurate, high-quality, reproducible, and timely work.
- Draw conclusions based on experimental work and research.
- Provide ideas to improve work processes and departmental efficiency.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Interface with customers as part of the sales team.
- Coordinate efforts and share information with the US technical team.
- Provide on-site chemistry expertise to advise production.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain well-organized and complete records.
- Produce timely and well-written project reports.
- Order and communicate supply and chemical needs.
Requirements
- BS in Chemistry, Biology or other science related (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of industrial experience.
- Chemical Engineering Experience is a plus.
Technical Competencies:
- Working knowledge of chemistry and products sold by the organization.
- Ability to multitask, plan, and organize effectively.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with strong presentation skills.
- Initiative, confidence, and good judgment in decision-making.
- Familiarity with key department processes and equipment.
- Proficient in using Verdant computer hardware and software.
