Systems Engineer

Salary range is 95-105k
Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Systems Engineer to join our client's team. The ideal candidate must be a self-learner driven by their passion for technology, aiming toward continuous improvement. They will possess a strong enthusiasm for infrastructure, automation, engineering efficient solutions, and enhancing security awareness within the organization.

Critical Job Functions:

• Provide technical expertise and support within the Systems Engineering Team.
• Develop best practices and strategies for system deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
• Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and governance to implement improvements.
• Ensure system performance, uptime, and scalability with thoughtful design.
• Employ exceptional problem-solving skills to address issues proactively.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to resolve technical escalations.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure Teams to design and build secure technologies.
• Recommend, design, build, and deploy new tools and platforms to automate systems operations.
• Continuously monitor, maintain, and support all cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
• Act as a Tier III escalation point for infrastructure requests and incidents.
• Stay informed on recent industry trends and developments to take proactive actions.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a systems engineering role.
• Scripting and automation experience with REST APIs.
• Expert-level knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
• Strong knowledge of Office 365, Windows RDS, VDI solutions, Azure Cloud, PowerShell, and Storage platforms.
• Experience with VMware.
• Positive and proactive attitude towards customer support.
• Ability to effectively multitask and work independently.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• 7+ years of IT Experience preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in a security operation and/or engineering role preferred.
• Relevant industry certifications such as MCSE, VCP, Azure fundamentals preferred.

Compensation:

$90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
