Full Job Description
The Station Operations Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting the Stations Operations Manager in overseeing daily shift operations, monitoring and improving employee productivity, and ensuring the efficiency of all station maintenance processes. This role is responsible for fostering a positive, dynamic work environment while maintaining service level agreements and achieving business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Key responsibilities include closely collaborating with the Station Operations Manager to stay informed of organizational updates, addressing any daily challenges, and proactively contributing ideas for business improvements. The Station Operations Supervisor leads by example, ensuring the team is collaborative and that daily operations run smoothly. This position is an integral part of the SHIFT Transit Team, requiring both independent and team-based work. The Supervisor provides daily guidance to team members to ensure safe and efficient operation of Divvy Bike Share stations throughout the City of Chicago.
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
- Review daily workload and plan routes for Field Staff to meet business KPIs and productivity goals, adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and/or repair highly technical station equipment.
- Monitor, schedule and/or perform preventative maintenance and/or cleanings as needed, in accordance with contractual requirements, SLAs, and KPIs.
- Monitor, document, and audit work completed by the Stations Team.
- Monitor and report attendance violations, conflicts, and performance issues to the Operations Manager.
- Assist Operations Managers with staffing assessments & training.
- Oversee staff assignments, routes, schedules, and productivity to ensure operational efficiency.
- Act as a keyholder responsible for assisting in maintaining, updating, and reporting inventory shortages within the system.
- Oversee the maintenance, security, and cleanliness of company vehicles and facilities.
- Tasks and/or responsibilities subject to change based on business needs and growth.
Schedule Requirements: Minimum 1 Weekend Day
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience:
- Moderate computer literacy with a willingness to learn new technologies. Ability to navigate spreadsheets, scheduling platforms, routing software, and ticketing systems.
- Experience with face-to-face customer service interactions is preferred.
- High commitment to safety standards and achievement of business KPIs.
- Ability to respond promptly and effectively to stakeholder needs and make real-time decisions to meet and exceed team KPIs.
- Competency in providing technical training specific to the bike-share system.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Physical capability to lift up to 75 pounds, bend, crawl, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules based on business needs.
- Must be comfortable exiting the vehicle and/or walking minimal distances to complete jobs.
- Possession of, or willingness to obtain, a forklift and crane operator license.
Due to the nature of the work performed by the company, the Station Operations Supervisor may be assigned to perform duties outside their responsibilities, up to and including work in the field.
