Full Job Description
The Real Estate Portfolio Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing a diverse portfolio of real estate investments. This role involves strategic analysis, property operations oversight, and working with a team to optimize asset performance. The Real Estate Portfolio Manager will also collaborate closely with investment teams to ensure alignment with overall business goals while maximizing returns for investors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify investment opportunities and assess market trends
- Develop and implement asset management strategies in collaboration with the investment team to enhance property performance and drive value
- Monitor financial performance metrics, prepare regular reports, and present findings to senior management
- Oversee property management functions, ensuring compliance with operational standards and addressing any issues that arise
- Perform preliminary background analysis of markets and financial analysis of sponsors and guarantors
- Negotiate lease terms, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements to optimize portfolio performance
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including tenants, vendors, and industry professionals
- Conduct financial modeling and performance analysis to guide investment decisions
- Assist in fundraising efforts and engage with investors in portfolio updates and strategy discussions
- Manage and optimize the performance of a diverse portfolio of real estate assets across various property types
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in real estate investment management or asset management.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, business, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Strong understanding of real estate financial analysis, valuation methodologies, and modeling
- Experience in property management and operations
- Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team and manage a variety of projects and tasks
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Proven ability to analyze market trends and identify investment opportunities.
- Strong capacity, based on experience and demonstrated success, in asset management of affordable housing developments at both the property and fund levels.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency with Excel, financial modeling software, and presentation tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to travel as necessary for site visits and meetings.
