About the Role:
This position will support our customers, Field Service, Support and Manufacturing operations by performing the following:
- Design of our sensor and components including:
- Metal components
- 3D printed plastic components
- PCBA design
- Wire and cable design
- Manufacturing tooling design
- Field Service / installation tool design
- Design mounting brackets and hardware solutions for the installation of our sensors on material handling equipment
- Produce proto-type and production parts utilizing 3D printing technology.
- Automation and mechatronics design of assembly and test equipment
- Create engineering drawings and BOM’s.
- Work within the Engineering team to process change orders and maintain product configuration control.
- Create and write assembly, inspection and test procedures.
- Program and operate Universal robot for manufacturing and test processes.
- Contribute to the team in developing manufacturing department tooling, equipment, fixtures and processes.
- Working with the team, apply 8D and 5 Why analysis to troubleshoot issues and provide root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Determine manufacturing time standards and improve efficiencies and outputs.
- Assist in the development of ERP system and process controls.
- Develop tooling and manufacturing processes that build quality into the product.
- Verify workmanship and effectiveness of manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- Work Experience:
- Previous 3 - 5 years of experience
- Mechanical Design
- Experience with Fusion 360 or similar CAD tool
- Experience in basic PCB layout
- Device design utilizing electrical and mechanical devices
- Optics experience, digital camera and lens design
- Industrial moving equipment design experience
- Understanding of mechanical shock and vibration
- Electrical cable mechanical design requirements
- Electrical Design
- Power supply design experience
- Electrical cable electrical design requirements
- Basic PCBA Design
- Mechatronics Design / Automation
- Automation controls utilizing raspberry pi or arduino
- Automated assembly
- Automated test systems

- Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Background in Mechanical, Industrial, Automation, Field Service Engineering
- Mechanical Design knowledge of CAD, preferably Fusion 360
