Are you a knowledgeable and enthusiastic tutor looking to make a difference? Jovie & College Tutors are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team and help students achieve their academic goals. If you have a strong background in your subject area and are eager to work with students one-on-one, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a flexible tutoring schedule that accommodates students’ needs.
- Collaborate with students to set achievable goals and track their progress.
- Foster open communication with students, families, and our office team.
- Provide personalized instruction tailored to individual learning styles.
Position Details: Tutoring primarily takes place in our welcoming learning center located in downtown Barrington. We value tutors who are subject matter experts and can inspire students through engaging lessons.
Subjects of Expertise: We are looking for tutors who excel in one or more of the following areas:
- High School Level Math (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus)
- High School Level Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
- Test Preparation (SAT and ACT)
- High School Level Spanish
Bonus Skills:
- High School Level English/Language Arts
- Additional subjects (History, World Languages, etc.) are a plus!
Schedule:
- Availability of at least 3 days a week from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
- Flexibility to accommodate occasional weekend sessions.
Compensation:
- Pay ranges from $19.00 to $27.00 per hour, based on your experience.
Location:
- This position is in-person at our Barrington, IL learning center. Applicants must be able to relocate before starting work or regularly commute.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in High School level Mathematics and Science courses.
- Minimum of 2 years of tutoring or teaching experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, or Education preferred.
- Strong curriculum development skills.
- Comfort with educational technology and incorporating it into lessons.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that resonate with students.
- Experience working with students.
- A genuine desire to help students succeed academically.
