Our client, a major food manufacturer has an immediate need for a Maintenance Mechanic for 2nd Shift
2nd Shift Hours: M-F 3:00 pm to 1:00 am
Weekends: Possibly
Paid OT and Full Benefits
Hourly Rate: $30 - $35 w/a paid 30 min. lunch.
**Bilingual is a plus.
$1500 Sign-on Bonus
Will report to: Plant Engineer.
There are 3 Maintenance Mechanics on the 1st Shift, 2 Parts Clerk and 1 Reliability Engineer.
Description:
The purpose of this position is to keep everything working, up and running which is critical to plant operations.
Must Have:
Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience working as a Maintenance Mechanic with industry and manufacturing settings.
Mechanical background is a must.
An Electrical background is a major plus.
Packaging equipment experience, bagging machine, and/or conveyor experience. (familiarity with Allen Bradley and Hayssen products)
Ability to problem solve.
Must take initiative and have time management skills to manage and prioritize tasks.
Position is measured by PM (Preventive Maintenance) and ability to troubleshoot problems quickly.
Trade school is a plus but not required
Will work on a tablet to complete tasks.
PURPOSE:
To repair, maintain and change over food packaging lines. To complete minor building maintenance and blending area equipment repair.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicates directly with the Plant Engineer to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
Set priorities through the plant engineer for food packaging equipment rebuilds and preventive maintenance.
Coordinates with the lead mechanic and coordinator to proactively schedule planned maintenance downtime.
Provide feedback to the Pant engineer.
Work complete monthly PM’s correctly and completely.
Participate in the maintenance training.
Utilize E-Mant to verify PM compliance, assign PM, and close out work orders.
Disassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment (motors, switches, sensors, input/output board, controllers, gears, sprockets, chains, knives, etc.) using test equipment and meters such as VOM, megger, amp probe, and PC.
Comply with OSHA Safety and Health standards and requirements.
Abide by pant GMPs and Safety Regulations.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Vocational school a plus.
Additionally:
Must be someone who can handle a fast environment. This is the job that keeps everything running. Must be able to prioritize tasks, be able to handle the pressure of dealing with stressful situations if equipment goes down. Takes the time to do the work properly, effectively and efficiently. Does things right the first time. Must be able to work independently
Must have human and food safety skills.
Will do a background check, drug test.
Due to nature manufacturing process should not have any food allergies.
Will also maintenance dust-collecting systems
