JOB SUMMARY
The General Fabrication position involves a variety of tasks including cutting, welding, assembly, and finishing of metal and non-metal components for the Aerospace Industry. This role requires a keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality, ensuring that all fabricated products meet the required specifications and standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine proper fabrication techniques.
- Perform metal cutting, shaping, and assembling using a variety of tools and machinery, such as saws, drills, and CNC machines.
- Execute welding processes including MIG, TIG, and stick welding to assemble components.
- Inspect finished products for conformity to specifications, ensuring all dimensions and tolerances are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the fabrication process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
- Complete necessary documentation including fabrication logs, inspection reports, and production records.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience in metal fabrication or a related field.
- Experience with reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of welding techniques and principles.
Requirements
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly required to stand and perform manual tasks for the duration of the shift, typically 8-10 hours.
- Occasionally required to kneel, squat, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must have good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for precise work.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels and exposure to welding fumes.
- Strong work ethic: Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
- Adherence to safety protocols and company policies is mandatory.
