Summary:
The Front Desk Representative is responsible to coordinate and ensure completion of all clerical and secretarial functions in accordance with front desk duties. Greets, instructs, and directs all students and visitors. Maintain paperwork and documentation in an organized and logical manner. Triages all incoming phone calls to the appropriate department.
Hours:
3:30pm - 9:30pm (Monday-Friday)
8:00am - 5pm (Saturday)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet and direct all students and visitors to appropriate location or department.
- Assist with scheduling and planning
- Answer various incoming calls
- Help in maintaining general flow of daily projects
- Maintain safe and clean front desk lobby entrance area, as well as student lounge
- Assist in preparation for new semesters
- Ensure that copy machines and printers are maintained and service calls are made when necessary
- Assist students and faculty with computer issues
- Perform other duties as assigned by Nursing Program Administrator.
Requirements
- Listening and Communication Skills: You will be expected to follow instruction from your boss, and your ability to understand those instructions with little or no follow up will be appreciated. Understanding college policy and being able to apply it correctly is very important. Good listening and communication skills ensures that the information is relayed correctly.
- People/Interpersonal Skills: You might be the first line of communication between our college and the outside world, potentially speaking with prospective students, new students, teachers and administrators. Your people and interpersonal skills will help you do well.
- Organizational Skills: Help keep the working day in order. Scheduling meetings, working the phones, handling visitors will all require terrific organizational skills.
- Computer Skills: Writing emails, transcribing notes, copying, and creating spreadsheets or printing documents figure heavily in a front desk secretaries day.
