Fire Fighter

Braid Wood Fire Protection District is seeking dedicated and courageous individuals to join our team as Fire Fighters. As a fire fighter, you will play a vital role in safeguarding lives and property from fire hazards and other emergencies. You will work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, where no two days are the same. Responsibilities

• Respond to fire alarms and other emergency calls promptly and decisively
• Operate equipment and tools necessary for fire suppression, rescue operations, and hazardous material incidents
• Perform search and rescue operations to locate and save trapped individuals
• Provide medical assistance, including CPR and first aid, to individuals in need
• Conduct fire prevention inspections and enforce fire safety regulations
• Participate in training exercises to maintain physical fitness and develop firefighting skills
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of fire apparatus and equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Successful completion of a certified fire academy training program
• Strong physical fitness and ability to perform demanding tasks in stressful situations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, and be on-call for emergencies
