Full Job Description
Canopy Farm Management offers tree planting and management services to farmers and landowners in the Midwest. As the for-profit branch of the Savanna Institute, we are actively working to promote the widespread adoption of agroforestry as a climate solution in agriculture. We provide comprehensive design and management solutions, handling everything from start to finish. Alongside seasonal implementation jobs, Canopy currently manages 7+ farms. The Technician will work as part of a team to establish and maintain perennial agroecological systems. This is a manual, outdoor field work position that will involve driving company trucks and trailers, operating tractors and a wide range of implements and other specialty equipment and tools, data collection, and troubleshooting equipment. Depending on experience and areas of interest, The Technician will be expected to assume leadership responsibilities on a rotating basis by leading other field crew members and assistants.

- Willingness to work independently with strong self-direction
- Strong communication skills
- High school degree, or equivalent job experience
- Valid driver's license

- PTO: All employees accrue paid time off from the beginning of their employment. Paid time off may be used for any purpose, including vacation, sickness, personal time, and holidays. No paid holidays are automatically provided (e.g. New Years Day, Thanksgiving, etc.) - employees must use their paid time off pool for these holidays if desired. Full-time, field-based employees have a fixed PTO “winter break”period of 160 hours (20 days) each year for the last two weeks of December and first two weeks of January. Limited PTO requests will be allowed March 1- June 1.
