Responsibilities:

The School of Music, Art, and Theatre at North Park University seeks a String Pedagogue for University Orchestra starting August 2024 and ending December 2024. The candidate will lead technical string pedagogy during orchestra rehearsals (Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.), support students, and will play with orchestra in rehearsals and performances. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Music
  • At least 5 years of teaching experience
  • Skilled violinist or violist
  • Strong and collaborative leadership skills
  • Experience using innovative pedagogical approaches
  • Proven success in classroom and applied settings
