Director of Process Automation

• Set up of automation department and organization.
• Manage Engineering Manager responsible for design and selection of control systems of larger processing plants (PLC, Networking, DCS And SCADA).
•  Prepare the control strategy for NA plants
• Study current machines, utility designs, and layout to find opportunities for process and/or engineering improvements through automation.
• Develop automation and control project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and align with stakeholders.
•  Prepare automation and control project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and recommend actions.
• Provide support and direction to Maintenance personnel who are managing field activities.
• Provide strategic project management services to the operating departments. Provide ongoing support for Plant Operations, including advances in automation, servo control, robotics, and the application of sensor technology.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• BS/BA is required, ideally in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related.  Masters, MBA is strongly preferred.  
• 10-15+ years of engineering, controls, and automation experience in a manufacturing setting is required; prefer industry-related experience such as: consumer products, foods, snacks, high-speed packaging, or other closely related food / CPG manufacturing environments 
• Automation and controls engineering experience is required, prefer capital projects, robotics, high-speed packaging equipment, project engineering management and related  
• Thorough knowledge of TPM is preferred.
• Strategic level director experience managing multiple sites
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good planning and priority setting skills.
