About this role

We’re looking for a motivated and experienced marketing leader with a passion for educational technology and a proven track record of success to join us in our mission to transform education through innovative solutions. As the Director of Marketing, you’ll report directly to the CEO, playing a key role in shaping our marketing strategies.
What you'll do:
Go To Market Ownership:
- Understand and own the full marketing lifecycle.
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to drive revenue growth while collaborating closely with the Sales team.
- Align Marketing initiatives to closed revenue.
- Leverage B2C demand to drive B2B sales.
- Create a consistent outbound sales and marketing motion.
Team Leadership and Coaching:
- Lead and inspire a marketing team, providing guidance, strategy, mentorship, and constructive feedback.
- Implement coaching strategies to enhance the performance of the marketing team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture that drives increased sales, SEO, top of funnel traffic, and conversions.
Strategic Planning:
- Work closely with the executive team to develop and execute strategic marketing plans aligned with the company's overall objectives.
- Drive initiatives to reach new accounts and expand the company's market share within the K-12 education sector.
- Align our messaging and value proposition with market needs.
Metrics and Reporting:
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide regular, detailed reports to the CEO on individual and team performance, identifying areas for improvement and success.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with product development, sales, and customer success teams to ensure alignment with company-wide initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between the marketing team and other departments to foster a cohesive and collaborative work environment.
Requirements
You're perfect for this role if you:
- Have proven experience as a successful Marketing Director, preferably in the K-12 education technology sector.
- Possess a strong understanding of the K-12 education market, including trends, challenges, and competitor landscape.
- Demonstrate exceptional leadership and coaching skills with a track record of improving outcomes at each phase of the customer journey.
- Bring an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to contribute to the development of marketing strategies and adapt to market changes.
- Have excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Are a self-driven problem solver with a results-oriented approach.
- Have experience with marketing a product in the Chrome Web Store.

This is a Chicago-based hybrid position with 3 days a week in the office.
