CPA / Finance Controller (Part-Time)

About the Role

We are seeking a part-time CPA controller to help manage our internal financials and assist with our month-end close process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and an expert in US GAAP rules. This role will require meticulous attention to detail, strong communications skills, and have experience managing third-party bookkeepers.

The person in this role will:

• Work with bookkeeper to accurately perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and management analysis as needed
• Suggest and assist with Quickbooks Online (QBO) improvements and internal financial controls improvements as needed
• Support annual audit and tax filings as needed

Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Strong knowledge of US accounting principles and standards
• Proficient in Quickbooks Online (QBO) and MS Excel/Google Sheets
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work

This is a part-time role that we estimate may be approximately 20 hours of work per month to start, and then we expect it may become 10 hours per month after going through a few cycles of month-end. The duration of this engagement is expected to be ongoing and we hope this can become a long-term partnership.
