Crisis Nursery is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children Specialist to join our team in providing vital support and care to children experiencing challenging situations. Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to children in crisis or need, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Develop and implement individualized support plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each child.
- Facilitate group activities that promote socialization, emotional development, and positive interactions.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other team members to address the needs of children holistically.
- Monitor and document children's progress, behaviors, and incidents, maintaining accurate records.
- Conduct intake assessments and participate in case management meetings to develop strategies for intervention.
- Provide crisis intervention support, guiding children through difficult emotions and situations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with children in a professional or educational setting is required.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and trauma-informed care practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children and families.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in crisis situations, utilizing problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with community resources and services available for children and families in need.
- Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment and collaborating with various stakeholders.
