The Role

We are looking for a Category Analyst to join our team who will provide critical analytical support to our category management efforts. In this role, you will leverage data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement within our product categories, ensuring that our offerings align with customer needs and market demands.

  • Analyze sales trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and threats, and to drive business growth within the energy drinks category.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Sales, Product Development, and Supply Chain to implement category strategies.
  • Use data-driven insights to influence assortment decisions and shelf placement.
  • Design, manage, and implement pricing and promotional strategies to optimize product performance.
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and strategic partners to drive category growth.
  • Present findings, insights, and strategic recommendations to senior management, using data visualization and presentation tools.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and consumer behavior to inform the strategic direction of the category.
  • Responsible for creation and distribution of monthly syndicated scorecard, highlighting key insights and trends.
  • Leverage panel data to develop reports on consumer demographics and behavior.
  • Collect, organize and distribute retail sales data from various sources, including POS systems, inventory management systems, and customer databases.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and special projects as assigned to support business initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Category Management, ideally in the Beverage industry.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, and other data/visualization tools.
  • XLOOKUPs/Pivot Tables a must, PowerBI/Power Pivot & Query is a plus.
  • Proficient in other M365 tools such as PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint
  • Power Automate experience a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with syndicated data platforms (SPINS, Nielsen, and IRI) is required.
  • Proven strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking skills and a desire to be a lifelong learner.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex data and insights to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong project management and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient understanding of retail consumer behavior and market dynamics.
  • Experience with Blue Yonder (JDA) and/or other major space planning tools, experience with updating product databases an asset.
  • Passion for the beverage industry/CPG and a drive to make a meaningful impact on our business.
  • Bonus points for those with experience in 84.51 Stratum.
